I like the original poster have a Samsung smart tv, model, UE40MU6400 it has been reset, had the router firewall turned off, I have made sure that the TV has the latest available firmware update and I have made sure that there are no conflicts on my devices page and I have tried every other available help that has been posted on this forum BUT since the 10th May, since the Now tv app was updated I have been unable (like many, many, others) to either start the app that I have paid for, or watch any content so WHEN WILL this be fixed as Now tv are surely in breach of a contract regarding the delivery of a service that they (SKY) are not providing to the end user. If I have missed any updates that anyone has as to when this might be fixed I would gladly like to know,

I have even spoken to Samsung who say they is a problem with the app and that it is being worked on. But how long do we have to wait to be able to watch Now TV on a tv not an iPad?
I also have the same issue with the Now Tv app on my Samsung tv. 2017 4k model. I have tried all of the advise given to me my Samsung but this did not work. Netflix and other apps all work fine. Any advise would be welcome.

Hi same problem here, I found that I had to reset the Samsung smart hub loosing all my data to get it back. Bit of a pain as you have to log back into everything once again.

We have this problem on a Samsung QLED TV (Q7F). The Now TV app does not open at all. The problem started a couple of days ago - on opening the app all we got was a black screen.
We have tried many things, including suggestions found online - switched off, unplugged, removed and re-added the app, held down the TV on/off button on the remote control, checked we have the latest Samsung firmware (we do), reset the Smart Hub (palava), ... , etc. - and nothing has worked.
Please can someone explain what the issue is and say what we need to do to resolve it? Thank you.

Thanks. That simple solution just worked for me after spending ages trying to redownload the app.
I totally agree with your comments - I have just paid for NOW TV to watch on either my Samsung Smart TV or on my Mac - neither work (I AM technically savvy and have done all that should be required re downloads etc) I am able to watch the Golf on my smart phone - but golf on a 5" screen is not fun!!
I have the same problem after a power cut to the TV and router. I removed the app and tried a re-add but that was the same blank screen. All other apps working.

If you are using a Samsung 2017 smart TV then according to this linked help article Samsung are aware of a known issue where they can undertake a manual fix on your TV (whatever that means) by contacting Samsung UK TV support.
Has this problem been resolved as I’m also experiencing the same issue?
Hi, We have a Samsung UE55JS9000 TV 2015 model with the Tizen OS.
We have had the same problem since the big upgrade to the Now TV app on Samsung recently. Sometimes hanging on the circles other times on a white screen.
There is a work around that is to "reinstall" the app on the TV. To get to this option you have to go to the full Apps page, then press and hold the select button on the remote until the reinstall option is shown. We have found this needs doing EVERY time you want to launch the app. Really annoying, tempted to get a Now TV box to get around the problem as it's been going o for weeks now, but why should I buy a piece of hardware when the app is at fault?
Either fix the problem please or ditch the app all together.
I found a post from Now TV saying to contact Samsung for a manual fix. I did that via the Samsung online chat and they are going to send me a new / updated level of firmware for the TV on a USB stick that isn't currently available for download. Fingers crossed.
I'm having the exact same issue. Have to turn my tv off at the plug every time. Hardly what you'd expect from a service such as this. Why the lack of urgency to fix such a long-standing issue?
