Do I need an engineer install?

I’m looking to get a fab fibre deal for mummy elderly gran, who would really benefit from video calls during the Coronavirus crisis.

She has never had broadband before - just a fixed phone line with BT. Before I proceed, I need to know if it would require an engineer visit to install. I’m assuming either Now TV have ditched engineer visits due to social distancing...but anyhow, they wouldn’t be able to enter the property given my gran’s age.

Thanks in advance for some advice!

Hi, @Anonymous User Since your gran already has a BT phone socket, she won’t need an engineer to enter her home. An engineer will be booked but that will be to do the required work on the street cabinet and exchange.
