I had now broadband in 2017 for a number of years which i cancelled due to a cheaper swap my bill was paid in full and the swap when ahead i have since swamped my broadband every year. Not once have now broadband contacted me since i cancelled with them. I have just been looking to come back to now broadband as my login detail have never changed ?? This has directed me back to my old account which said i have an outstanding bill of £42. I cancel now broadband and tv over the phone and there was NO outstanding bill this was over 2 years ago, broad band was then changed over by the company i was changing to at the time - i do not have an outstanding bill so I’m not quite sure why it is stating this in my old account ??????????

If you cancelled 2 years ago and haven't been chased by debt collectors, I wouldn't really worry about it.
But yes. as @gavs82008 says, give them a call.
Is your area still only FTTC, do you not have full fibre available?
