Why have I been charged £8.99 this month for my pass instead of £7.99 like every other month?

Because the price has gone up from this renewal.

But it does seem easier to find this information from elsewhere than from NowTV itself 😤

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
If you take an offer that comes with a ‘free trial’ of Boost or another Membership, Cancel them straight away. You will still get the full duration of the trial, and if you decide you do want to continue with one or another of the trial products, just revisit the Cancel, and UnCancel it.

Check out https://help.nowtv.com/article/entertainment-month-pass

As a new member, you get a 7 day free trial. Then it’s £8.99 a month.

You can cancel at any time.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help
