Hi,
I bought a sky sports week pass today and have been unable to get it working when chrome casting from the Now TV app on iOS devices. This was working OK about a week ago. What happens is this:
- I open the Now TV app on iOS and press the cast icon and select the chrome cast name
- "Now TV Ready to cast" appears on the TV
- I press play on one of the channels
- TV screen changes to still image of the relevant programme, with buffering icon in the middle
- It returns to "Now TV Ready to cast" screen
I have latest versions of iOS and Now TV app. I have restarted apps, router and chrome cast numerous times.
I'd really appreciate a solution to this, as not being able to chrome cast makes a week pass a lot less useful to me.

I am sorry for the issues you have experienced so far.
I know you have probably already answered these before but It would be great if you could provide us with some more information -
What device are you using to cast? E.g. iPhone, iPad
Are you able to play out on that device first before casting?
What steps have you taken to try to get this issue resolved?

ipod(s) and ipad

yes

restart modem
power-cycle chromecast
reset chromecast to factory defaults
power-cycle ipod/ipad
restart now tv app
delete now tv app and reinstall
check for iOS updates and now tv app updates
(all of the above have been done numerous times)
Also, just to state, even though it's not one of the questions you've asked, other apps which support chrome casting (e.g. iplayer and youtube) are working fine.
The problem first appeared for me on Friday night.

Thanks for the details.
Can you also tell us your Chromecast firmware version? You can get that info when you download 'Google Chromecast App' from App store/Google Play (make sure your tablet/phone is connected to the same network). You should see your Chromecast listed as a device within the app. Then click on the Chromecast and the voila!

Are you able to provide me with some more information on the issue you are experiencing?
What are you trying to view?
What device are you using to cast from?
Does it work on that device before you cast?
Is it only the live channels that you are having the issue with?
