Hi @Anonymous User
The nowtv smart stick does work on dual band, have you checked in your router settings that you have assigned or named the 5ghz frequency band ?

Hi @Anonymous User
When you go into the smart stick settings under network > about, what wireless channel is showing on your stick ?
If it's showing channel 36 or higher then your stick is working off the 5ghz wifi band on your router, where channels 1 to 13 are on the 2.4ghz band.

On my old BT Hub 4 router, I had to rename the 5ghz band in the router settings so it can be identified easily when selecting from my wifi devices.
I have just switched to nowtv broadband and on my Hub 2 the router automatically selects the best wifi channel in my home environment and for me it's showing channel 36 (5ghz) on my wifi devices in the house.

Hi @Anonymous User
Not sure who your ISP is or the model number of your router.
Where i have just been having a play around with my new nowtv hub router 2 and in the settings on the router i have changed from synchronised 2.4ghz / 5ghz and split these two bands up, therefore creating two different wifi networks (like what I did on my old BT Hub 4 router in the past).
More info here about the Hub 2.

So now when I search for available networks on my wifi devices (including nowtv box and Roku Stick Plus) i have a choice of either 2.4 or 5ghz.
Then i select which band has the best wifi reception signal where I tend to go with 2.4ghz for devices close to my router and 5ghz for devices in rooms further away from the router (you will need to experiment which band and channel works best for you in your home environment if your router and devices are dual band compatible).

Shiwing as channel 1. Think problem might be the SSID - same for both speeds except higher one has "-5G" appended. I will live with it for now until I find something nor right with my viewing.
