I have lost my remote where can I get a replacement and how do I know which is the right one

NOW don't sell a replacement Voice Smart Remote anymore nor do they sell the NOW Stick or NOW boxes.

This question crops up quite a few times (either the NOW Smart Voice Remote on the NOW Stick is lost, broken or damaged).
