signing out

does any body know if you have to sign out all the time before you switch the box off from the wall socket, or can you just switch off and on and already been signed in.

@Anonymous User I have an old white box which I occasionally plug in to test with. I never logout and I've never have any problems.

I do not work for Now . I am simply a Now customer trying to help I am a Community Contributor This means that I know a lot about the service. But just like you I am still a customer. This means I cannot help you with issues that would involve looking into your account directly. A member of the now TV forum team or live chat will need to assist you with these issues.

If you do sign out you'll have to keep signing back in again when you plug it back in. If you don't sign out it will remember your details and sign you in automatically next time. Much less hassle.

I switched mine off at wall along with rest of electrical appliances whilst away. It logged straight back in today, didn't have to sign in.

I unplug at the mains because the box seems to get very warm and I'm worried about it over heating.  When I switch back on I cannot watch any programmes because some words keep flickering behind the scenes.  I have to reset the whole thing everytime and log in again.  I am confused as you seem to be saying you switched off and then just picked up from where you left off. What am I doing wrong ? Thanks for any insights.

The box is not designed to be switched off all the time. I only switch mine off in lounge if going away. One in bedroom goes off as it is linked to other devices with lights on. Not had a problem though with having to reboot box.

I may be missing something here, but how do I sign out of an account?  I want to give one of my boxes to a friend but don't want them on my account, but I can't see a way to change the user?

Hi @Anonymous User,

If you're intending to give your box away, I suggest you apply a 'factory reset'...

Hi 🙂

Yeah, I may well do.  I found the sign out option in the end, you have to go into the nowTV app even though the box itself says who you are signed in as.
