Welcome to the forum. Yes the NOW TV box needs to be connected to a TV and a wifi/Ethernet connection for the Internet. You can find out how to set up a box here

found out that now tv box,and my YouView box are not a match except for Sky Movies.Thanks to all for your help.If only Now tv were a bit clearer on what you can get with there box. Could have saved some money!!

I know this doesn't help you in the short term, but Sky / NowTV have agreed a deal with BT starting sometime in 2019 where NowTV entertainment, kids and sports will be added to the BT YouView boxes in the NowTV App (the info is a bit sketchy at the moment apart from a Sky press release article issued a few months ago).
