The NOW TV app for the new Apple TV should be coming out soon, so please keep an eye out.
Thanks,
Rich
Just received my Apple TV4 and no support that i can find for the new app. There is no option to install it from the apple store and no obviuse way to get the app onto the box...
I'd just bought a Now TV Sky Sports Pass specifically to watch Sky Sports on my new Apple TV. Can I cancel it until the Now TV app is out? I tried using AirPlay mirroring but it kept dropping out.
it's not just now tv (sky) has let us down here, bbc, itv, ch4, ch5 , this was announced a few months ago, this is a big product and no uk support quite backward thinking of them all.
It is, not apples fault. They have the SDK its up to the content providers to get their bottoms in gear.
On a different convo Sky are lauching something new on November 18th, to set you free is the tag line.

How soon? That's a rather open ended term. Now TV was supposed to be a launch partner.
Are we we talking a few hours? A few days? Weeks? Months? Will be out by the end of the year. AirPlay doesn't work on the Now TV iPad app to the new Apple TV so you need to make this right, and very, very quickly. Paying subscribers are not known for their patience.
There are hardly any apps on there at all compared to the old Apple TV (I am after Flixter as well) so they probably weren't ready for launch. Maybe they'll all slowly start to appear gradually over the next few days/weeks.
The App Store is a barren wasteland. No iPlayer, no Amazon Video, no All4, no MUBI, and no Now TV.
Very, very poor.
Soon as in within the next week or should we all cancel our subscriptions until it turns up?
It's immensely poor as the old Apple TV supported it and the new Apple TV was advertised as supporting it. A lot of customer good will is being lost over this.
Perhaps
http://help.nowtv.com/article/Supported-devices#
could be updated to reflect that the NowTV app is not yet available on the new generation 4 Apple TV boxes? The page states that Apple TV is supported, which it ain't if it is a new box......
It's a bit crap that I can't even airplay Now Tv off my iphone!
I just got this from 2nd line support, sort of sounds like they knew what I was saying the issue was, the new Apple TV is way better than the old one, but annoyed that no formal aknowledgement of this delay, luckily I still have old Apple TV which I will have to use tonight.
Maybe NowTV will mange surround sound and 1080p one day, Netflix has had since launch in the UK (3 years ago?).
Hi Neil
Thank you for contacting NOW TV
I am sorry to hear you are unable to use Apple TV at the moment.
We are currently updating the app that is why it is unavailable , it will be back on shortly.
If you need anything else please contact our live chat team or reply to this email
Kind regards
Sue

Considering I'm paying for this service, I would cancel my subscription if now TV is not released by the end of this week.
Sorry if this has already been asked but will the NOW TV app be fully integrated into the Apple TV (like with Netflix)? I've just searched for Avengers Age of Ultron on my Apple TV knowing it to be on NOW TV and it only brought up the option to buy it from the iTunes store
There are essentially three types of Apple TV 4 apps. The first, such as Netflix, are written hand in hand with Apple, and they're designed to show off the platform to its fullest. Americans get several of these full fat apps, but we just get Netflix, iTunes and Apple Music. They all support Siri Universal Voice Search, Top Shelf, Visual Scrubbing, and user interfaces which either use the white iOS 9 style white templates with lots of art and transparencies, or are written with fully custom user interfaces in true iOS code. Netflix is a 100% all dials on max Apple TV app. It sets the standard by which all other apps can be judged.
The second type are Apple TV 4 apps written without Apple's help. They can do everything the first category can but they can't access Siri. Not yet anyway, but next year Apple will open up Siri to all apps. A good example of a really high end Apple TV 4 third party app would be MUBI.
The last category are the ports. These are old Apple TV 2 or 3 "apps", but they're little more than pages of text on a black screen. They have none of the new Apple TV features or user interface. YouTube is a good example of a lazy port, and Now TV is another.
The last category shouldn't exist, but laziness and corner cutting is surprisingly rife at big media companies. Sky may redo Now TV for the Apple TV someday, or they may not. I'm not holding my breath. I dare say Sky could have taken route one, and worked with Apple to create a state of the art platform selling Now TV app with all the trimmings including Siri. It's too bad for everyone that they didn't.
Well it's fully intergrated with YouView so I hope they do the same with the Apple TV 4
