New broadband package

Hello,

I’m moving house and have just ordered a now TV package. The house I’m moving into has never had any sort of WiFi or broadband provider. Do I need to order any extra items or do I need to get someone to fit it into the house ??

many thank

Will

Depends if there is an OpenReach connection at some point of the house.

Normally when you call the broadband team they will sort it out. But should be a matter of sending an engineer to get the socket installed, then plugging in your NOW router.

Hi Will

Your question reminds of the first time, way back in the day, I got Internet and wi-fi in my home, all I needed then was a phone line and socket, something most UK homes have.

Over the years, I've had OpenReach come in and changed my phone socket and even replaced the phone line into my home.

However, you should note that this is where their responsibility ends, i.e. the line and phone socket into your home, other rooms where you want a phone line and router placed will be down to you.
