My router has lost its password security.

I gave a visitor my router password to get online. He found that my wifi was not protected and open to anyone. I've reset the router to no avail. Any suggestions on how to get password protection back?

A router is unlikely to just lose it's Wi-Fi security, however factory resetting the router will return everything to defaults.

As @Jayach  says, factory reset to the router.

@HamishThanks for replying but as I said I tried the reset but it made no difference.

But, was that a factory reset? After a factory reset the Wi-Fi security has to be on.

@JayachHi Jayach, Tried a second reset - nothing. In desperation tried again after powering down router first.  Hoorah password back. Thanks a million for the advice.
