Configuring a third party modem router to NOW Broadband

I've just purchased a Tenda AC1200 dualband modem router to replace my NOW TV modem router but am having issues with the config.  When entering the wireless SSID and wireless key details its not clear whether I should be entering the SSID details on the back of the new modem router, or whether I should enter the NOW broadband SSID and wireless key?. I've tried both but the connection isn't authenticating.

Does anybody have any experience of this?  Perhaps NOW broadband simply doesn't authenticate using a third party modem router?

Use the Search box at the top of the page, All Community, search term Tenda AC 1200.

You will find this:-

and other relevant and useful postings, notably about the MER 61 option that Now (and its parent company Sky) use.

I am unable to find MER 61 referenced in the manual for this modem/router, though.

You do use the security details, SSID etc., from the new router, by the way. The details on the Now router are specific to that one router only, not even to any other Now router.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
