Check what speeds you ought to be able to get with this:-

https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/broadband-coverage#:~:text=Standard%20broadband%20has%20download%20speeds,speeds%20of%20greater%20than%20300Mbps

Now’s two Fibre offerings cost the same price, but Now can only provide the speed physically available to your property. And it may be that 40Mbps is the best you can get, certainly via a BT Master Socket.

What guaranteed minimum speed did Now offer you?

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

@RoyB interesting, I hadn't seen that checker before. It does give a very much simplified view of what is available at a specific location.

@Anonymous User I've always used the Openreach/BT checker here:

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL (if the number checker doesn't work. use the address one instead)

But the results are a bit more technical.

You have to realise that the figures used in advertising are an average of what users get, each individual subscriber may be very different, it all depends on the length and quality of the copper cable from your cabinet.
