When is the AppleTV app Beta going to start, I got an email saying 2nd half of August & not heard anything since. Also will the App be delivered by Apple Test Flight?

Not really a beta trial though is it, when the tv app is actually in, and can be downloaded by anyone from, the 🇮🇪  App Store?!

Where is it, anybody got any invitation for testing of new app. Tired of watching 720p so called hd on Apple TV current now tv app. 

Last night I was stunned with what amazon prime video offering live stream of Us tennis Open 2018 in 1080p with high frame rate. Picture quality was incredible look like watching on sky q HD. If amazon prime can do it why can’t Now tv do it.

I wonder if Apple has asked them to hold off until their next keynote (expected around middle of September) this was the case with both the new ITV hub and My5 apps.

or it could be the survey feedback threw  up some unexpected  questions (lack of people wanting to pay more for HD pass)

or unrelated to now Tv but perhaps in the same development cycle the sky Q apps that are incoming are not ready.

All guess work but it’s fun to debate.

I'm hoping it's your first suggestion - waiting for the Apple keynote in September (though that would make more sense for the full release, not the beta).

My fantasy is that the Apple keynote will be the catalyst for releasing the updated Now TV app as well as the All 4 app that's already been confirmed to be in development. And maybe we'll even get a UKTV Play app, though I've not heard anything about that coming to Apple TV.

I have feeling that they know if they gonna give 1080p HD on Now Tv live streaming on apple tv, It will kill their sky Q set top boxes hardware bussiness. It might reduce their profit margin. I understand all over UK internet is not their yet but atleast give option to stream for those who already have good broadband at their home. 

They need to understand 720p looks very bad  on 55 inch or plus size TVs. Why we want it on apple tv because its smooth experince and its joyfull to switching from one to another app in fraction of seconds. 
last night i turn apple tv developer hud on ongoing live tennis at Amazon prime look at stats. Even 30.68 frame rate looks greate in 1080p.

Although over on the digital spy forums sky customers are saying they are getting letters land this week saying they will get sky sports on HD for free as SD is being shutdown (similar to sky cinema) so maybe it’s all about cross platform timings (give it to their core sky customers first (free HD for sport) then roll out to NOW TV and other wholesale partners (virgin/BT/Talk talk etc)

I got an email telling me I had been accepted and it was supposed to start around the the end of August. Got another email saying there had been a slight delay and they would let me know when it would start.

Which would be a shame really, as we watch something on NOW TV pretty much every day. Just watching the cricket right now on Apple tv 4K actually...

I emailed back to the trials team asking if the trial was still going ahead and got a reply stating that preparations were still underway and they would be in contact in the coming weeks.

I bet they’re waiting for tvOS 12 to be released (possibly today?). They probably don’t want to start a beta trial in the middle of an upgrade from tvOS 11 to 12.

It was in news that Now tv app is bringing 1080p HD live streaming like year ago. We never seen anything yet. They know this Now Tv app on apple tv is really crap beside its just 720p.  When now they give us hope of beta which was promised testing by end of august, again nothing we get nothing. WE are paying customers kindly consider over requests. I dont mind paying for smooth viewing experinace but paying for this 720p live content and worse layout app is not fair at all. We are here to support you kindly consider our requets and please deliver what you promise. Thanks
