Pause button and directional arrows stay in middle of screen

How do I lose the pause button and directional arrows that stay in the middle of my mac laptop screen whenever I'm streaming anything? Thanks

Hi @Maud

I don't own a Mac, but see if there is anything in this linked thread below helps in anyway.

Thank you for directing me to the previous replies. I tried moving the cursor as suggested. It hasn’t worked. I think I will just cancel my NOW membership...

@Maud

Did you get this far?

Either of the things I describe work on my iMac, and I don’t think a Mac laptop is going to be any different….

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

Thanks so much for replying. Yes, I did try your technique but as i use a cursor on the laptop, rather than a mouse, I can’t ’not jiggle’ it. Maybe I should try and find a mouse to use… I found I’d signed up to 6 months of NOW TV so I’m stuck with the service even though it’s sub par.

Really appreciate that you got back to me. Maud

I was wondering about that - maybe the laptop vibrates, even slightly, and is always jiggling the cursor?

In which case, transferring to using a mouse would stop that. Might be worth £8 to find out…

How helpful you are! I shall buy a mouse from Amazon as you suggest and will give it a go - I’ll let you know if it works. It’d certainly make the next six months of unavoidable NOW subscription less frustrating. Many thanks!

I have been having the same problem on my PC.  A less than perfect fix is if I don't maximise the screen, and move the cursor to the top, the pause and back/forward buttons disappear after a few seconds, so I can watch properly on an un-maximised screen.  If I maximise, they won't go away.

@Maud I found that if I go into full screen mode using F11 then the pause button goes away, but not if I use the mouse pointer.
