I keep receiving this message “something is not right. Give it a moment or check nowtv.com/status for updates. If the error persists please try logging out and back into the app to continue watching (error CVF:PLAYER_CLOSED_DUE_TO_CONNECTED__EXTERNAL_DISPLAY)
tried turning off and on, logging in and out, redownloading the app, and waiting over 24 hours. Error still persists.

What playback devices is the error message occurring on ?
Does it happen on all NowTV content or on one particular TV show or movie ?
Are you based in the UK or the Republic of Ireland ?
Are you using a mobile device or laptop with a HDMI cable for example to a TV, Monitor or Projector (if so does the message appear when not connecting to another external device ?).

Comes up all on devices - phone iPad and Roku stick

Any third party software on your Router or is it on it's ISP default settings ?
See if switching the power off to your Router for 30 minutes clears the message on all your NowTV playback devices.
I am also assuming you are not using a VPN (if so try setting it to the UK or disable it when watching NowTV).
To be honest not sure if the above will be any help (especially with the error message you seem to be encountering).
