My friend cannot get NowTV box to connect to Sky hub

Hi, 

Bit complicated this so bear with me! My friend still lives with his parents who have sky tv and broadband but refuse to have skysports added even though he said he'd pay. So he's bought a NowTV box and is trying to get it connected but gets error 014.30.

Do sky block NowTV MAC's either officially or unofficialy? I'm thinking he's going to have to ask them again to add Sports as the only solution - apart from move out which isn't an option.

Any suggestions would be appriciated.

No @Anonymous User We wouldn't block any addresses what so ever. What device is he getting this error on anyway?

Hi, It's a black NowTV box he's trying to connect to a Sky Q router,
everything else in his room connects fine except the NowTV. Could a
014.30 error be caused if an IP address wasn't being issued by the Sky
router?
