Poor picture on iPad but good on iPhone

Im having an issue where the quality of the stream on the app on my iPad is terrible, unwatchable in fact, but when I stream on my iPhone I get a crystal clear picture. So it can’t be my broadband or Wi-Fi.

any ideas how to fix this?

I don't own an iPad or iPhone, but on the iPad have you gone into the My Account section on the NOW App to make sure the streaming quality is standard and not set to low ?

 

if that's not the problem, maybe try a fresh NOW App download from your iPad Apps Store and after the download, power down the iPad and try again.

Today I was watching the Harry Potter reunion on the iPad streaming and literally no issues. 

Is your iPad iOS fully updated? 

Have you tried to download the content and watching via the download?

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

Yes ipad is fully up to date. I’m trying to watch live sport so download isn’t an option.

So I think I’ve managed to fix it. Just posting the solution in case anyone else has the same issue and finds this in a search.

 

Not sure why but I had background app refresh switched off on my iPad but on on my iPhone. Switched it on on the iPad and it seems to have solved it.
