Just noticed this today (never seen it before in 8 months of viewing) - after selecting an episode of something in the watchlist, a 15 second pre-episode NOW TV advert/trailer for some other TV show played first then it began playing the selected episode.
I quite liked having no adverts and trailers on NOW TV Entertainment!
Is this the future then for NOW TV Entertainment?
I 100% guarantee this is just a precursor for full on proper advertising, and it is just a 'sly' way of Sky testing the water before we are bombarded with appalling adverts the majority of anybody with a soul hates, and unless people oppose this nonsense now then you only have yourselves to blame and start paying to watch adverts !
A year ago this service was superb but is slowly getting worse with every UI update introducing little things the majority of people don't want.
The introduction of the 'Kids Pass' was the last straw for me and i just want my 6 month ents pass to expire so i can cancel.
Hi @Anonymous User
I am so sorry but I seem to have thanked that Si troll chappie by mistake....I meant to thank you
You are right, 14 posts, all on this thread, nothing constructive...and he was supposed to have cancelled his account....I think we might rest our case there, don't you?
I'm totally with you on this one, Gary....my previous...err.."Contributions" to this thread might show that.
All the best
P.S. If you want to be annoyed by adverts, go on to "All4" and try to watch "Case"....46 (advertised) minutes soon becomes an hour with anything between 3 to 9 adverts every 15 minutes...You can't skip them either!!....I still say that a 30 second promotion at the beginning of an episode beats that!
Thanks again, Gary.
@Anonymous User Agreed and if a promo means keeping the cost down it's fine by me. I get that some people can find them annoying but I just don't, maybe that says more about me!

Random, irresponsible and incorrect use of 'troll' - I would have thought better of you Abermaw.
I continue to to read and post on the each of the forums regarding the infernal trailers because I continue to hope that Sky will change their minds and believe that should they do so I might read it here first. I will then happily resubscribe.
If you want to express an opinion about whether I am 'constructive' then it might help if you actually read my posts - I have made many constructive suggestions in the past and have been thanked for them.
Finally if you want to refer to the number of posts I have made (why? Seems irrelevant to me, and even less so to your new friend above) then perhaps you should put them in context. I think you'll find that I have made a significant level of (maybe the most?) contributions in the forums that I have an interest in.
I simply cannot understand your aggression, particularly over something that you time and time again have said does not bother you.
I will continue to post in the hope that Sky reverses this terrible decision. So there!

If you can't help with that, and are not bothered by them, I'm not sure that this is a useful forum for you.
Please stop trolling people on this thread who have an opinion different to yours, As stated I personally don't mind the ads and hadn't even noticed it prior to reading this thread. I merely wished to add my opinion in balance to the many posts from people who don't like them. I would further point out this forum is not yours and therefore you should keep your thoughts about my membership of it to yourself. Having only posted 14 times since 2014 some might say this isn't a very useful forum to you.
Given that you are even more of a newbie than me I don't feel inclined to trust your judgement about appropriate postings. And you really need to improve your understanding of what constitutes 'trolling', rather than childishly throwing it around as general insult.
No adverts please. One of the main reasons I've moved on to watching content on services like NOW TV is NO ADVERTISING. Terrestrial TV is unwatchable because of constant advertising. If I have to watch advert trailers every time I watch NOW TV it will be time to cancel my subscription and move onto another service provider.
Tonight when wanting to watch an episode of a box set I find I am being shown trailers for other programs.
When did this start?
NOT impressed at all and if it continues I will be cancelling my passes for Entertainment and Films.
Andy
When did that start...
Ages ago...
How many per show is show dependant and if there is any show worth even having as you can only watch content from 13 channels... It also depends If its a boxset made from BD/DVD masters or Broadcast versions only...
Broadcast versions still have channel idents...
Sky one content can have trailers during the show as well...
Living TV can have Specific TV show trailer in the parts were the Advert would have been in broadcast...
Discovery channel was the very first to have Before the show trailer, in the show trailer and After the show trailers...
Channel product placement trailers CAN NOT be fast forwarded...
Included from the content producers product placement trailer can be FF...
If you watched some thing from Sky atlantic Box set you would get say a penny dreadfull trailer or what ever at the start... and then nothing If it was a BD version if a braodcast boxset version you get there channel ID trialer
Sky one had... this for a long time...
( No Audio on purpuse dont want any flash backs )
I have used Now TV almost since day one and last night I have seen a trailer when watching on demand.
I very much much doubt I will be continuing with the service if I am to be bombarded with these trailers, pity as up to now I have found the service first class and have just invested in one of the new "Smart" boxes.
May give Netflix or Amazon a try.
Andy
There should be a way of either option out or skipping these adverts. I never saw them until last night, is it because I have moved from the LG TV app to a Smart Box?
Last night everything I tried to watch inflicted the same trailer on me, I gave up after six or seven attempts. Why not make it so you only get a trailer once?
The only way to get rid of product placement adverts is to Put the subcription Price up which NowTV did before...
The more expensive a Show boxset in licensing rights the more likely Product placement adds will be included...
Believe BBC is trying out the same Product placement trailers tech on IPlayer as well...
Why am I seeing trailers on BBC iPlayer?
We’ve started showing trailers on BBC iPlayer to tell you about programmes you might like. Here’s how it works…
When you hit play on a programme on BBC iPlayer, a short trailer may start. If you like, you can skip the trailer at any time by hitting the “Skip” button.
but they include a skip button option... ( other IPTV providers like youtube are removing the skip button... )

I can't imagine they will go now. And I suspect in time they will be actual adverts. And in time adverts will be interspersed within the programs. And then everyone will think it is just like ITV Hub and start buying blu rays and DVDs so they can watch films in 90 minutes rather than 3 hours. A reason people pay for on demand services like Now TV, Netflix and Amazon is to not have the advertising. You Tube is free so you just accept the trailers and clutter. Film 4 is free so you get adverts during the movie. Sky Movies costs so you don't. (though heaven know why Sky Sports think it is OK to fill the screeen with idents, scores, number, symbols and pop ups and charge £34/month)
Maybe in time it will be like Amazon that sells you a special offers kindle fire with ads for £10 less than the one without special offers.
PS It would be good get rid of the mini ads for Sky Atlantic in the midst of programmes.
I really dislike this feature. It is usually irrelevant, sometimes showing me things I've already watched. if it continues I will cancel my subscription. shame I really like the tv.
Totally agree. If I wanted adverts I would watch TV. Can't even skip. What's with that.
@Jason-C I know you were collecting feed back on the promos before programs.
Personally I agree that with @Anonymous User that it is annoying when you click play on something for more adverts to appear. People choose catchup or demand rather than live to avoid adverts.
If NowTV did a Customer Poll asking the question "Do you mind a short advert promoting other shows on the nowtv service at the start of watching either a catch up or boxset episode".
Then i don't think you need to be Mystic Meg to know which option would win by a landslide ?
So I'm paying a subscription to watch epsiodes of television series. Yet I am bombarded by adverts... why am I paying to watch adverts? Why are any of us?
If they are getting advertising revenue then we shouldnt really be paying a subscription surely?
