I am on the £20 monthly plan, but also am paying 6.99 extra for the entertainment pass however do no have access to films or series? I do not understand why this is the case.

The entertainment membership doesn’t give you access to films. Just TV shows and their box sets.
Are you definitely signed in on the device in question?
