Casting allowed to TV from tablet allowed for Downloaded shows?

I know you can't CAST a programme from an Android tablet NOWTV app to a Samsung Smart TV, but wondered if you d/loaded a show to the tablet, could that be cast?

Assuming both devices are on the same network I would assume so. However something I've never tried.
