No sound on live tv when the adverts come on or the show resumes and vice versa

When watching a show, and the ads start, then the sound goes off. If I come out of the stream and start it again, the sound returns until the show resumes and the sound goes off again until I restart the stream.

 

This is driving me crazy

 

I’m using Apple TV 4K and the sound is being output to paired HomePods

Immediately after posting this, I wondered if it was something to do with the HomePods.. and indeed it is, sound works fine through tv speakers. No idea why, I don’t have any issues when watching on demand

My only suggestion would be to report via live chat and maybe link the thread so they know it's a widespread problem with homepods.
