Error code: SDK.BUFFERING_LIMIT:UNKNOWN_REASON.MAIN_CONTENT

Two days ago the NOW TV app (on windows 10) stopped working for me.  Now every time I try and watch something I get the following error after a long hang:

Error code: SDK.BUFFERING_LIMIT:UNKNOWN_REASON.MAIN_CONTENT

I have tried all the usual fixes.  I have cleared cache, used different browser, restarted everything, reinstalled everything, and yes I have BITDEFENDER but have added all exceptions and it worked before but I still disabled BD and tried with no firewall/antivisus running.  I have even ran Check disk, SFC and DISM just for giggles.

I have a fast home network and gigabit internet.  Everything else is working.  I am not aware of any system or application updates.

And yes... I turned it off and on again...

Anyone got any next steps?

If you perform searches in the community for the player on windows you will see many threads showing issues. Some have been resolved and some have not.

I've gone through the links and have uninstalled, removed folders, cleaned registry and reinstalled but get the same error.

I don't use a PC when watching NOW, but i would try temporary testing the Google DNS public server on your PC to see if this gets rid of the message.

You could also try typing the error message into the Community search box for any hit results.

I've gone through the threads containing that error - 2 have no solutions and the third worked again after a router reboot which hasn't worked for me.

Changing DNS servers does nothing.  Still got the error.

Report the fault with staff, as I am out of suggestions. Like @schnapps  i don’t use my laptop to watch NOW with so I can’t speak from experience.

 
For live chat make sure you click “chat online” within the green box and not “get help quicker” as this is a bot.

If NOW live chat can't help, then if it was me i would tag the forum members on this linked thread below who was encountering this issue and ask them if they resolved it somehow and if so what was the solution.

** Solution Found **

The issue has been fixed.

I gave it one more go and did the following.

Uninstalled NOW TV Player.

Manually deleted the folders left behind in the "Roaming" file structure.

Ran CCleaner to remove any old registry entries.

Rebooted my router.

Rebooted my PC.

Summoned the great Nyarlathotep.

Reinstalled NOW TV Player.

It now works.  I'm not sure if you stricty have to Summon one of the Dark Gods to get the fix to work, but I left that step in just in case.

Thanks for the pointers.  Whatever this little glitch is, it took some effort to shift.

i had one similar to this except it says SDK.LOADING_LIMIT:UNKNOWN_REASON.MAIN_CONTENT

i tried everything but nothing worked…until I simply purchased NowTV boost…and it worked 💪

you see this isn’t a real technical problem, no, it’s a fake technical problem designed to manipulate people into buying NowTV boost.

NowTV are world famous for this kinda thing

it should be illegal 🤔 maybe it already is but why would NowTV care they just stole £5 from me for nothing.
