Remote stick on pairing

my remote stopped working this morning. I have followed all instructions to try and re pair the remote but get no green lights when I hold the button down. The odd time I have had a green light just shining but still nothing happens. So I reset the stick now I  am stick on a pairing screen so the remote on my phone won’t work not the normal remote!! Someone please help

This seems to be quite a common problem with the smart remote for a number of people who have reported it on here.

 

My smart remote has become problematic since a number of recent updates on my 4K nowtv smart box where for me temporary removing the batteries does the trick for a while until the same thing happens all over again.

 

In my circumstances i have noticed using cheap batteries and when the batteries have around 50 % or less power on them that the lock up of my smart remote occurs more regularly.
