cancel after they tried to take a payment early?

after trying for sevaral hours to cancel the free 14 day trial,all it will tell me is, 

We couldn't take your payment

Don't worry, you can keep watching while we try to take your payment again.

In the meantime, you can check your card details are correct.

and then when i look at the actual passes it gives me, You won't be able to cancel or apply a voucher to this pass while we're trying to take your payment.
