Add on payments/badly set up passes

We had a sports month pass given to us by a friend (value of £33.99) we put this on on the 5th of march, our bill comes out on the 16th of every month for broadband and entertainment. Turns out NowTV have their own rules regarding a month pass, we were charged and additional £12 on our bill for the sports and when queried I was told because our sports pass ran into the next month of our billing we had to essentially pay again for it to run until the 5th of April as it should of. Spoke to customer services, although nice operator and not his fault the system is set up so badly the only solution was to knock the £12 off our next bill and cancel sports from today to avoid further charges. So we have now not had almost 2 weeks of our pass our friends paid for and have been told any other passes need to go on the same day as billing in future or I'll have further charges. Was on the phone for 30mins +, anyone else had this issue? Not happy at all
