You're lucky. Our "Superfast" broadband rarely gets higher than 10 mbps, but NOW claim that there is no problem. The only way to get faster broadband is to change provider.

Same thing happened to me. A bit more than a coincidence that the scammers (1) knew I was a NOW customer (2) knew I had technical problems. Conclusion, there is a data breach in the NOW organisation. Take care!
