No Player App!

Today, streaming started in the browser window! The separate app is not being used! This is wonderful. Am I dreaming?

Hi @Jim93

Nope, you are not dreaming it has finally happened watching NOW through a browser window rather than using their NOW Player software which is now redundant.

The NOW online Help Article (see link below) has now been updated to reflect using an internet browser window instead of the NOW Player software which is now not used and is redundant.

That page still says Chromebook isn't supported, but I just checked for 30 seconds and was well

@Simon-J has clarified that the Player is only redundant for Windows and MacOS, the ‘headless’ Players that could only be used via the browser.

And there now being a browser-only version of Now opens up access for Linux devices and Chromebooks.

However the ‘headed’ Players that can either be used standalone or driven from the browser are still needed on iOS, iPadOS and Android devices, tablets and phones 😢

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
