Adverts

I haven't paid for Nowtv in a while, and now I can see why they keep pumping out £1 offers every month, they are clearly struggle for subscribers; no-one wants to pay for something and still get adverts, and then pretty much force you to pay an extra fiver just to get rid of them...

@Lukey

Discovery+ have introduced adverts. You have to pay extra for no adverts.

Next year Disney+ will be introducing adverts as well.

Nothing surprises me about adverts in streaming services now. For these companies it’s all about additional revenue which advertising can supply.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

This service is awful. Why on earth am I paying £9.99/mo for the worst catalog, worst app, and adverts?

I wondered that too.

You do realise you can cancel at a moment’s notice, and let your last payment run out on what would have been the next renewal date?

And then spend what was previously getting you a month’s streaming of a cornucopia of programming on half a BluRay disc instead?

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

The adverts, poor picture quality and extortionate pricing is indefensible. Stop bootlicking and demand better.

Cinema costs me £1/month for 3 months and Entertainment costs me £1/month to end of May and I have Free BOOST for a month.  When free Boost ends, I get it for £2/month for 3 months.

No adverts, no extortionate pricing and HD picture quality.  What more can I ask for?

As for "worst catalog" Julia and The Staircase have recently arrived which justifies the Entertainment but agree with Cinema.  Very hard to find much worth watching these days.

UHD 😛

Loved seeing Dune, but I knew we were missing out, so we’ve laid in the UHD BluRay for a subsequent viewing.

I suppose UHD would be nice, but on my 40" TV it makes little odds.

I would like better new movies.  However not sure there is much Sky/Now can do about that.  I have been using the free monthly Chilli stream for Telegraph subscribers since the turn of the year and am a bit ahead of what is current on Now, Prime, Disney and Netflix.  Currently have West Side Story rented which is also on Disney +.

Slim pickings on Now TV this month https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a35151183/sky-cinema-movie-premieres-now-tv/  Though I still have the new Liam Neeson movie (Backlight) to watch.

Dune is a very good movie, but again I saw it before it arrived on NOW thanks to being invited to a director's Q&A.

Have just got a free month of Apple TV + allowing  me to watch CODA, Finch and Slow Horses.  However not much of a catalogue there.  Right now, the best catalogue for me is Prime with all the Bond movies added which I can watch in order though, I mistakenly started with Dr. No without realising the original Casino Royale was also available.  Will get back to it once I have watched Goldfinger.    Still none of them are as good as International Man of Mystery (also on Prime).

Dr No was the first Bond film. The first Casino Royale was a spoof; the second, serious one, much later, with Daniel Craig.

You started in the right place…

As for International Man of Mystery - I guess you’ve seen Frozen? Now you can watch Unfrozen 😛
