Handset

Any advice on operating the tv from the handset? The on/off button has never worked for me.

Otherwise check to see if the stick is fully updated.

Worst case set the stick back to factory settings.

Maybe I’m having a brain fail here, but it seems to me that the answer to this question is to repeat that part of the setup that pairs the remote with the TV, always assuming we are talking about the Smart remote that can do this, and not the first remote shown in the first link above, which can’t.

Instructions for this are on the setup pamphlet in the box, and you would think that they would be repeated in the Now Help. But despite having a good nosy, I can’t find a sniff of them anywhere 😢

However, we do know that Now Sticks are made by Roku, and here are the Roku instructions for this:-

which should work, and also extend what the Now pamphlet says if the process doesn’t work at first on your particular make and model of TV.

But it seems quite an omission that this is not in the Now Help, or at least not anywhere that the variety of search terms I tried could find it 😢

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
