I have the new smart box. I can't get it to work.

I bought a smart box with a 3 month entertainment voucher in it. Ive now spent hours and hours trying to get it to work. It is connected to my TV, aeriel and router and all that happens is stripes on the TV with a No Signal PAL  message. Ive tried on different days and I've tried pressing the remote buttons but with no result whatsover. At first I thought it was something I was doing wrong but it seems weird that absolutely nothing works. Is the box a dud perhaps?

@Anonymous User, the box is designed to work via HDMI. There's no guarantee any of the converters will work.

The problem could be any number of things.

You could try another device on input 3 to see if that works.

Try using the SCART sockets on the rear of the TV (AV1/AV2) using an RCA/SCART adapter.

The likelyhood is the HDMI/Video converter is not doing the job.

If you do get it to work, the picture quality is going to be very poor compared to what the Smart box is outputting.

In all honesty, time to invest in a 'new' flat screen with HDMI inputs.
