NOW TV box has stopped connecting to internet.
Was working fine till yesterday.
Reset to factory settings to go through set up again.
Went through set up.
First two checks okay (connects to wireless and connects to local network)
but then gives error 009 when try to connect to internet.
I can access internet using my phone via same wireless point so internet access is possible.

Hi @Anonymous User
Thanks for your post. The 009 code usually means that there's a disruption in the connection between the NOW TV Box and your router.
I would suggest rebooting your router and doing a soft reset on the NOW TV boxes by sticking a paperclip the button at the back of the box until the screen goes blue & the black NOW TV screen re-appears.
This helped recently when another customer was getting error 009 http://community.nowtv.com/t5/NOW-TV-Box/cannot-connect-to-sky-hub-please-help-code-014-then-009-after/m-p/276215#M20347

Hey,
I am receving error 009, all my other devices are connected to the internet no problem but all of a sudden the now tv box won't.
The last time I used the box was Sunday evening and it worked fine.
I have reset both now tv and router, changed the channel, disabled pings, added the mac to my router, but still cannot get this to connect to the internet.
Please can someone help?!

Was a solution ever offered for the 009 problem? I turned my box on today for the first time in several months. It did a system update and now it won't connect to the internet. Pings are disabled. The router and box have been switched off and rebooted. Any ideas?

Same problems on my (white) NowTV box, working fine until the Christmas week and then will not connect to the Internet (Error 099), though connection to the Wireless and the Local network both pass fine.
Interestingly, the box is actually OK, BBC iPlayer works OK and will stream.
So it seems that the NowTV box carries out a check to see whether it can reach the Internet which is flawed.
The problems seems to be related to DNS; in my case DNS is restricted to only a DNS provider that filters the DNS requests for porn/illegal material/malicicious sites. Putting in an execption for the NowTV box seemes to fix the problems.
So it seems that Now TV have hard coded a DNS address for certain checks that ignore the DNS address given to the box by the router or wireless access point.
FYI: [possible solution 2] I got the idea to try this solution from a post that said the Roku boxes did not like a local DNS address. So you may want to try changing your DNS address (either in your router and/or the wireless access point) from the local router (probably 192.168.1.1 or 1.254 if you are on BT) and make them either the two DNS addresses provided by your ISP or use the two Google DNS addresses (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
Good luck

Hi Paul,
I had already tried Google DNS settings and my router doesn't connect to the internet. I had to change back to my ISP DNS for the internet to connect again. The fact that I did a factory reset mean that I can't use the box at all. The first thing it does when turning it on is ask to connect to the internet which then results in a 009 error. All I can do is keep plugging away in the hope that I find a solution.

EDIT: Hi Paul,
I accessed the secret menu by pressing (Homex5, FFx3, RWx3) and chose factory reset from there. I then selected Update and it downloaded the latest firmware. Now when it starts up it recognises the Ethernet connection and sets the box up from scratch. Like your white box it connects to BBCiPlayer etc. but still gives a 009 error if I try to connect to the wireless or refresh the ethernet connection. I'll leave it as it is because it's allowing me to watch tv. Maybe a future update will fix it but for now I'm not concerned.
