NOW TV take payment for each pass on the date it starts/renews (you always pay up-front for access like you do with subscriptions to Netflix and other streaming services) so if you want payment to come out on the 1st you'd need to cancel your free trial so that it doesn't renew and then purchase a new pass on the 1st of September (this means you would be without access for the days in between).
