Deeply unimpressed to be getting adverts with a subscription service. How come we’re paying to watch ads? Won’t be renewing.

Most subscription services have ads with their lowest price tier. You can avoid these by paying for the  additional NOW Boost membership, but this only applies to On Demand content, live TV will always include ad breaks.

We honestly don’t need another thread on adverts. They got added to on demand content a couple years ago. 

Live channel adverts and promotional content trailers at the start of shows/films will not be going regardless of boost or not. It is also explained explicitly in the help pages about no ads on boost.

All these services shove adverts down our throats;
Discovery+
Disney+
Netflix
Amazon Prime

The only difference out of all them is Discovery+ doesn’t even offer an ad free tier for gods sake!

PS play the cancel game with boost and you’ll be getting offers for retention. Which is why I am paying £2 instead of £6 and have been for 20+ months.
