NOW Player awful on Mac

Every time I go to play anything on the now player on Mac, I get 'access denied, you do not have permission'. 

When so many other streaming services allow you to natively watch content through your web browser - and not download and install and pointless and truly atrocious app - I don't understand why NOW seem unable to do this???

I've gone through every procedure possible - uninstalling the app, clearing cookies, restarting and even installing as admin - to no avail. 

Can anyone help resolve the issue given the NOW customer service / help seem wholly reliant on forum posts instead of actually employing people to provide a speedy response?
