You didn't get live chat. Sounds like you got 'Get help quicker', that is a bot which only goes by certain responses.
The real live chat is reserved for TV members only.
Broadband is handled via call centre.
Why do you need to speak to staff? As some stuff can be sorted before needing to speak with someone.
