Why is the sound quality so poor on the iPad version when compared to the PC/MAC?

Sound quality is poor compared to the PC/MAC playback ect. Are you ging to improve the iPad app anytime soon?

Just signed up last week mainly to watch Vinyl and upcoming GoT and am appalled by the sound quality out of the iPad. 

Watched Last Week Tonight and thought sound quality was pretty bad and then started watching Vinyl and its unlistenable, seriously. Picture quality is very poor too, not a patch on Netflix. 

I trialled NowTV about 2 years ago and cancelled because of the shoddy streaming quality overall. Assumed that a company like Sky would be leading the charge on optimal audio and visual quality and would have upped their game since then, I mean TV and film is what they do, isn't it? Seems not. 

People expect a level of quality and NowTV isn't providing. If it doesn't get fixed then I'll cancel and go back to using torrents. I really want to give someone my money for good service but media companies just don't get it. Its like they want us to go somewhere else.

I'm doing my regular check of NowTV and SkyGo poor audio quality on mobile devices: iOS and Android.

Currently conclusion is the audio quality on mobile devices is still poor.

So what is the response from Sky:
- It's a tricky issue to resolve
- We can't give a time frame
- We try our best to address issues

Occasionally you may get a community manager response of reinstall the app, clear the cache, what film TV programme is it?

I've stopped using NowTV and won't be using it until Sky sorts out the audio issues on mobile devices. Which at this rate is unlikely to happen.

Note if you have a non mobile device like a PC, laptop, console then the audio quality is not to poor.

There has been one response from Sky that indicates that the issue is something Sky can share the reason. Maybe it's contractual, piracy prevention but for whatever the cause I'm not very hopeful it will ever be addressed.

As we have to compress the video to stream on mobile devices it does take away from overall quality.

Our teams are looking into the issues and looking at different compression tools to try and balance picture quality and sound.

Thank you for the reply.
I hope you can strike a good balance between video and audio quality compression to improve the audio quality.
At the moment I find the audio quality un-usable and there stopped using NowTV for that reason.

I have downloaded the now tv app to my laptop and iPad sound quality poor on laptop whether I play stand alone or through the tv . It is fine on the iPad which is no good as I cannot play iPad through tv . I have played through fire fox and reinstalled the application but still no good on the laptop. Other fil apps play and sound fine so it's the now tv application.
