OK. I understand that the Defenders will have only eight episodes, rather than Netflix usual thirteen.

The Big Bad for the Defenders will be Sigourney Weaver playing the part of  Alexandra, an extremely cleaver person for hire.  Apart from that, nothing more is known about the show apart from the Kingpin may put in an appearance.

However, Iron Fist will be shown earlier in the year and tease the coming of Defenders, in probably May/June, and will be followed by the Punisher later in the year.

Not yet confirmed, but it is believed that the Punisher will turn up in the Defenders, which would be great. But he will have his own set of 13 episodes either late this year or early next.
