NOWTV Player? MOVE TO WIDEVINE!

Why are NOWTV still using their NowTV Player? It's buggy and consumes so much RAM, apparently the viewer is used to prevent online piracy but that cone be done in HTML5 with EME now. Are NowTV ever going to make the move to Widevine MPEG-DASH or PlayReady Smooth? They're both good DRMs used by Netflix and other sites why not here?

Are you on about the Browser/Player combination approach to watching NowTV on a laptop?

 

Have you tried the dedicated app in the Microsoft Store on Win10?

 

You never know, it might meet or beat your alphabetti-spaghetti criteria, and have a footprint able to fit comfortably in the measly gigabytes of RAM available on modern laptops and PCS Smiley LOL

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
