Hi Wahidndee
In regards to your question, NOW TV currently does not have subtitle option.
In the NOW TV Community you will find a board called My Ideas, this is a great place to put your suggestions forward for anything you'd like to see change or thing we should add to our service.
Hope this helps

I totally agree, no subtitles??????????
I am partially deaf, and wear two hearing aids, I need the subtitles.
Surely its not THAT hard.

... also...
If FREEVIEW can provide subtitles, why cant the mighty Sky corporation????????

New to the service this weekiend, I find amazing there are no subtitles on NOW TV, even the public and free TV have them, and the original films and series have them.
I am a very unhappy customer, looking for moving to another TV platform in close future.
Have just started the free month. I am hard of hearing. I would have thought that a large majority of your potential customers are retired as free to air tv in the daytime is rubbish. As most retired people suffer from hearing loss I would have thought that any sensible company would be aware of their customers and their needs. No subtitles and I shall not be purchasing.
Yes am very disappointed to find there are no subtitles for the movies as I am hearing impaired and rely on subtitles to understand the films, NOWTV is new to me as I recently bought the box, but if I had known there are no subtitles for the movies I would not have bought the NOWTV box!!!
NOW are looking for users to join their Customer Feedback Group and help improve the service. If you're interested read more here and sign up.
I am extremely disappointed with most things about Now TV. I signed up for the sky movie package free for a month, and then saw online I could also add the Now TV package for just one pound, instead of almost seven pounds. I added this to my account and was disgusted to find that, without even being shown a charge at "checkout", like every other thing I have ever bought online, Now TV had just taken the whole usual amount on my card!!!! I should really report this to trading standards. I will not be continuing with Now TV after the first month. There are no subtitles and when trying to watch 3 whole series of Trollied back to back, I have to keep going out of Now TV completely, and going back into the app for each new episode!!!! It's totally rubbish!!! Netflix is far superior, and cheaper (oh and it has subtitles), and gives you about 10 seconds between episodes of series you are watching, then plays it automatically. Also you can create your own list to watch later. Netflix rocks 🙂
Hi @Anonymous User
Very sorry to hear that.
The £1 offer is for new customers only, therefore if you ever had any other subscription on your account you won't be eligible.
In regards to your pass(es), just make sure you cancel them if you don't wish to use them anymore. If you need further help, please let us know.

A year later since you started "looking into it" and still no subtitles? When are they coming? (If they are coming!)
Hello LeBleu,
I appreciate it's been a long time since this discussion was started, but there's still no update unfortunately. Adding subtitles would be a really complex change to the service, and so isn't something that can happen quickly, if it does happen.
We'll keep the community updated as soon as there's news, but won't be able to provide any more information until there is news, sorry.
Tom
Subscription cancelled then.
Guys, I think we should vote with our feet... I've renewed my Netflix subscription which has a lot of subtitles available; and you can inform them of any title missing subtitles (I don't know if they take any notice, but I've been reporting stuff I find without them).
Who fancies starting an equality act campaign about how we are not getting fair access to the service (or even a discount for not being able to fully use it). Paying SkyTV customers get access to subtitles on their digital viewing platform so the subtitles are available to BSkyB/SkyTV/NowTV.
The Roku box/NowTV box uses an application which could be modified; in the same way that Netflix uses an App on the AppleTV as well as iPad/iPod/iPhone and also on their Windows applications and browser-based viewing... and they all have subtitle options.
@Anonymous User- thank you for your reply; please can we have someone of a more senior position (not just someone moderating the forum/community) coming on here and making comment?
I got some £2 a month deal for a limited time. So far in 3 months I have watched 3 minutes of one film before having to turn it off due to a lack of subtitles.
I'm going to cancel it as I have reactivated my Netflix and am enjoying being able to watch films again.
The selection of films is pretty poor on NowTV anyway so it's no loss for me anyway.
I only wanted subtitles as my daughter is a light sleeper and I have to watch everything with the volume down so without them this service is useless to me.
Hi @Anonymous User,
I'm responsible for managing the operation of this forum, and work directly with other teams within NOW TV to get you the correct information before posting anything, so the responses I've provided previously are in line with any other response you'd possibly get.
I totally agree with the calls for us to add subtitles to the service and am doing everything I can to demonstrate the level or interest there is in this addition to the service, but I won't make promises I can't keep or set expectations beyond what's currently possible.
If you'd like to discuss this further, although there's really nothing more for me to add right now, feel free to email me at thomas.rushton@bskyb.com.
Thanks,
Tom
Thanks @Anonymous User
Can you pass on to the other teams that under the Equality Act 2010, it is unlawful for them not to provide access to us d/Deaf people. To provide access, we require subtitles. Just because they "don't know how to do it" is not a valid excuse.
Should we decide to, all of us can lodge a complaint with the EHRC and the Government Equalities Office.
