Box not loading home, catch up or TV guide options

Hi in the last 4 days the home, catchup & TV guide options are not working. The screen just refuses to load & just hangs. I've tried soft reset, hard reset using the button on the back, factory reset, now tvs own technical support but no solution has been offered & the support team cut me off twice! Please help! The only way I can access content is via the apps option but isn't a great customer experience.

Hi,

Version on the app is 10.12.0 however the app is working on my phone but my
now TV box & now the stick I've replaced it with as I thought the issue was
the box is not!

Tech support asked for a hard reset to be completed which I did & this made
the issue worse! I was able to access content via the app option on the
box/stick but now if I try it just kicks me back to the apps option & will
not allow access.

I've had no response since I replied to tech support after the hard reset.
Really disappointing service, I'm now paying for a service I cannot access
& have been for a week now!

This has not been fixed! 11 days with no service or response from tech services ref 07294919 is very frustrating,

I'm having the exact same problems on 3 separate boxes in my home. Hard reset and factory reset both fail to resolve the issue. These boxes are also running version 10.12.0 like @Anonymous User

I cannot believe Now TV have had the audacity to send me a customer service
survey today asking how things went.

No resloution has been offered. Shocking experience!

I agree completely. By replying to your post I somehow became an "advocate". What the hell does that mean? And still no resolution but loads of drop outs and "no network connection" messages when I know, full well, my internet is up and running properly.

In the old days, these various statuses had to be worked for, by making a number of postings, and they really meant something about your activity in the Community.

 

Then the hierarchy was flattened, and the statuses are now handed out like sweets.

 

It was thought, apparently, that doing this might promote engagement, but it has not, and if anything, has gone the other way.

 

One particular irony, as evinced in your case and for others before you, is that if you arrive and post a single complaint, you are made up to ‘Advocate’, which is about the last thing you are, or want to be, in such circumstances 😢

 

This is an irony which seems to be lost on the NowTV Admins, though it is not lost on me.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

I am also having these problems with my box since Thursday 2nd July. 

 

I can get apps but none of the NowTV I am paying for!

 

I have been disconnected three times on the live chat. Can't afford a new box or stick. 

 

Done all the resets

I have had this issue for the past week now with my box, stick and stick at my parents house. 

I can search for programs but i cannot view the tv guide, i cannot click onto now TV as it just throws me back onto the home page. 

I can watch netflix and disney+ through the apps section and that will load, but whats the point in paying for now TV if i can't watch it!? 

 

I cannot find where i can even contact now TV about this, i have followed all the steps of resetting the box and sticks and also doing a full reset back to factory settings and still has not resolved this issue. I don't understand what is going on, but clearly its not just a one of, as too many people are having the same issue. 

It has to be an issue Now TVs end and they need to fix it.

I'm now of day 30 if this & still no resolution, their complaints procedure is a joke. So far an email has been sent to their CEO & MD, I'm awaiting a response! Annoyed doesn't even cover it!

Guess what......less than 12 hrs after I complained the issue is now fixed. Here's the guys you need to email [email removed] & [email removed] ceo & md for nowtv. Coincidence it's been fixed today? 🤔🤔🤔🤔😉😉 Good luck. I just need to get a refund & reimbursement for the hassle, lost subscription charges & inconvenience of buying a new Now tv stick now!

No idea. When I switched it on Sunday night it had no signal like the ariel
had been pulled out a TV, it restarted & voila it worked!

I am having the same problem. In System info under 'NOW TV account' it says 'Not available'. I wonder if NOW TV is having trouble recognising customer accounts. I am so frustrated by it all. I have clicked on complaints and left messages but that seems a useless endeavour, nobody gets back to me and the problem isnt fixed. They have removed the CEO email address you posted, but I would quite like to give him an earful myself!

Thanks, I will if I get no joy. I just spent a frustrating hour on live chat, speaking with two different people, my complaint has now been elevated and someone will be in touch via email.

We're having similar problems, with the NowTv Box completely useless now and it has been for about a week.

Able to use the NowTV app from the phone to cast to the TV (although it crashes regularly) so it's not the internet.

I've also been trying to get an online chat going for 3 days now and NO-ONE is ever available.  I don't like phone calls as I like to keep stuff in writing as I've had experience of verbal promises not being adhered too in the past.

Coincidentally my contract is up (I think, it's impossible to find out) so I may just say sod this and walk.

I ended up spending a good two hours on Live Chat getting nowhere, eventually the second person who joined the chat escalated my complaint and I received an email instructing me to reboot the wifi and disconnect the NOW TV stick and reconnect after a couple of minutes. I had already done this without success but tried again today and Home, Best of Catch Up and the TV Guide loaded until I opened the NOW TV app and was thrown straight back out again. I disconnected and reconnected again and they loaded again on both my sticks. If I click straight on a program from Home or Best of Catch Up it loads in the app. Home and Best of Catch Up provide a limited menu but by clicking on a program and then the back button on the remote you remain in the app and can navigate the full menu for your passes. If you stop watching for any length of time when you go back to the NOW TV stick Home, Best of Catch Up and the TV Guide are lost again.
 
They suggested if their instruction didn’t solve the issue that I could use the search option to watch what I wanted. 
 
They told me they are aware other customers are experiencing the same problem and are observing the problem closely. I replied explaining what happened, as above, and told them I expect them to do more than observe and to come up with a permanent solution to the problem.
 
Probably the more people who contact them at ( help @ now tv . com ) the better.

This issue is being reported all over the forum in different threads. I got a new nowtv box but still have the issue of it hanging. 

 

Someone else suggested you can use the 'search' function to find your programmes which worked for me but is a ridiculous  workaround.

I actually purchased a Now TV stick to see if that would work properly. But, no, if anything it is even more useless and I see there are threads re. the error messages being thrown up when people try to activate them.

There is obviously a serious flaw in the NOW TV code or their system capacity which is simply not being addressed. It certainly isn't a problem with individual power supplies or network connections.
