Slow connection speed

I have a tv in the bedroom with a Now TV stick. It has always worked fine through connecting by wifi.

However, last week I got an Amazon Echo device which also connects to the wifi.

Since then, the internet connection for the Now TV stick has been terrible. I can only watch a tv show for a few seconds before it gets stuck and stops playing.

I tried changing the bit rate from automatic to the maximum 12 but still doesn't work.

Any ideas how to fix the problem?

Thanks.

How is your broadband provider?

Is it NOW? If so you can split the Wi-Fi signal which might be of help.

As a test, disconnect the Echo device and switch it off at the mains.

Does this restore the previous satisfactory operation of the Now Stick?

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it.
Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now.
That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.
