So I cannot download the sky or NOW app onto my TV. But I have the cinema membership. How on earth am I meant to watch it?? I don’t have a stick and can’t see how to access one…am I just paying for a membership that I cannot use?

You need a compatible device from the list in the link provided by @MrObvious
My recommendation is either Amazon fire or Roku stick. All NOW branded devices are no longer made or sold so they will end up being unsupported at some point.
If you’re unwilling to purchase a suitable device then try your luck with live chat to get a refund. Make sure you click “chat online” within the green box, don’t hit “get help quicker” as this is a bot.

List of compatible devices can be found here. https://help.nowtv.com/article/what-devices-can-i-use-to-watch-now
Might have made sense to check that you have a compatible device before signing up.
An Amazon Fire TV Stick or Roku device are two good low cost options that are compatible with NOW. You can purchase these from a number of places such as Argos or Amazon. These plug into your TV via a HDMI port and connect to your internet. You would then be able to download NOW onto the device and sign in with your existing account.
Unfortunately NOW no longer sell their own boxes or sticks which you used to be able to get very cheap, often bundled with Cinema & Entertainment memberships.
