Set up without coaxial aerial

Not technical at all so I apologise if this is a very silly question.
I don't have a coaxial aerial socket in my home and am trying to set up my new smart box.
What do I need to do? Do I need an Ethernet cable from the smart box to my hub?
Please help! 😊

When you're setting up the box you'll either need to connect to the Internet via wifi or an Ethernet cable to your hub, there's no need to do both as they are both just ways of allowing the box to access the Internet.

This will allow you to use all the built in apps such as NOW TV, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4,"YouTube, Sky Store etc but without a coaxial aerial connection your box won't be able to receive any Freeview channel broadcasts.

If you want to receive Freeview channels as well you'll need to look into getting a rooftop aerial installed, or possibly if you are reasonably close to a transmitter you could try your luck with an indoor aerial. You can enter your details into the following website

to see what transmitters are in your area, and then try putting your details into here to get an idea whether an indoor aerial is worth trying or not

Hi @Anonymous User

You can use your smart box over the internet either via WiFi or Ethernet wired to your Router (which would be the better option if you are able to run an Ethernet cable).

As previously mentioned on another of your posts you won't be able to use the Freeview TV channels on the smart box without a TV aerial.

Hopefully this help article linked below will guide you through the setup process of your nowtv box.
