NOW TV stick stuck in update loop

Bought a now tv stick and after connecting to WiFi it comes up with a message saying activation plugin not downloaded. After searching about this error someone said to access the secret menu and force an update. I’ve done this about 10 times now and it keeps saying it’s has updates and keeps restarting but I get the same error message! Complete waste of money!!

I’ve got exactly the same issue. Is there a fix for this? Any ideas?!

I was having the same problem, I have both BT broadband but because that's so bad I've recently got 4g hub/router the stick got stuck on update loop when I was trying to set it up on 4g internet, swapped onto BT broadband hub and it did the update first time and went through all the setup no problems. So if you have 4g internet could this be the problem? Someone with better knowledge might be able to explain why? that's my experience, not a solution but might help find the problem.
