F1 2020 on NowTV. What do we want?

What do we want to see from NowTV F1 in 2020 ?

I'd want a stand alone HD app with live and catch up at a maximum of £10 per month.

Can someone help a poster with an approprriate name - Bamboozled

Last 2 years I have had a Pass for Sports at a discounted rate - maybe £195 for 10 months last year?

It was suggested that this (for me huge saving) would coincide with start of F1 Season and it looks like one has popped up for £198 but is it F1 only ?

I am bamboozled because when I click to but the Payment page changes to Syp Sports Pass which is fine because I currently pay 33 99 for that but want to ensure I get exactly what I get now

Many thanks Bamboozled

Thanks @starman73.

So, what are you doing, guys? (who still needed it)

@sneaker suggested strategy or direct pass? 🙂

I have bought the season pass for the last 2 years but with the threat of more races being cancelled i think this time i'll be buying the monthly/weekly option instead.

My only worry is that Currys might put up the price of the passes during the F1 season and i don't want to buy them all now.

As much as I'd like to be tight and save that £40 with the Passes from Curry's - £4.40/month (over the 9 months) is justifiable in order to not have to scramble around putting new redemption codes into the tele every other race.

Life's pretty busy and I know full well I'll be running into the house 20 seconds before the race starts, and if I then have to put in a code and miss the start of the race - I'll be cursing myself.

I spoke with NowTV support and they've said if more races were cancelled they would look at a partial refund for the pass too, so win win.

Quick question. I got this pass last year but not for F1 but for the fact you get all the sports channels and it is good value for money. Currently I have a 3 month pass which ends on April 22nd and the F1 deal ends on April 1st. Can I cancel my other pass a little early then purchase the F1 pass?

Rob, NowTV say the offer is valid up until 1st April - so you could subscribe after your current pass finishes

OK. But my pass does not expire until the 22nd April. Wonder if I could buy the F1 pass before it expires so I get the deal from April 22nd onwards?

May I suggest you try to get the offer on 25th March when you have less than 30 days left.  Often you can apply offers at that point.

Alternatively, cancel on 25th March and you will probably get a retention offer that may be better.

Got my answer from NOW TV. As my current pass runs until April 22nd and the F1 pass offer ends on April 1st I can’t claim the offer.. oh well!

Thanks @Anonymous User. If that is confirmed, it would be a good thing, going straight with the 9 months pass...

I'm gonna take a third way. Carry on with existing 3 month pass until mid May. See if I get a decent retention offer or email offer or offer on the site. If not, use some day/week passes until a good offer comes up (£20/month or less).

No way am I going to pay close to £200 up front. Bound to miss a lot of sport in the summer anyway as I will be in sunnier climes, coronavirus permitting.

So I see it is now being sold for £198 as a F1 season pass - but it is not clear if it is ALL sky sports channels or just F1. Can anyone confirm?

It auto renews for the full £33.99 a month. So given that, it should be providing access to all of the Sky Sports Channels.

It's all channels.

With £32.50 of Tesco clubcard vouchers saved and converted to NowTV credit at a rate of £1.50 in credit for every 50p of vouchers, its led to a saving of £97.50, so £100.50 for the year (£11.16 a month).

To celebrate I'm watching some Super Rugby!

As it's only a £3 increase on last year will get it for another year, although will wait until next Thursday to order as there is nothing until Practice that is really worth watching.

As the thread starter, it's been great to see the debate on here. This is my final entry on this thread.

Like F1 itself, I have a season budget cap.....

Sky/NowTV's demands for the season pass again exceed my budget cap, which remains in force during Sky's exclusivity deal.

F1TV however is within my budget cap but not available in the UK due to Sky's exclusivity.

No money from me on this one Mr.Sky.  Bye Bye.

The price increase over last season is less than the rate of inflation.

Granted I would love for it to be back on Free-To-Air as well, but that is not going to happen in the next few years. Sky would take Libery Media to the cleaners if they broke the deal.

Paying £198 for the entire season is a lot cheaper than having to pay for a full sky package.
