Error code 20002

Watching cricket on laptop connected to tv on day pass. Keeo getting logged out, constant buffering. Having to shut down, log back in, clear history ( was stuck in a mcdonalds ad loop). It is NOT my system.  NOWTV  have technical issues which they are not addressing. I am now taking legal action under consumer protection laws as consumers, are being mislead!

the error is being caused by nowtv and nothing to do with you, nowtv cut customers after a period of time ,it goes back to when the internet started you was cut off after an hour and had to sign back in, nowtv are doing the same its not an error its a policy by nowtv/sky customers need to complain to ofcom as ive seen a lot of customers having it done to them ,its done so the system doesn't crash because of amount of customers using the service so nowtv ramdamly drop customers

Tell me about it!    NowTV has started logging me out every 40 minutes.  I only watch football, so you can imagine, it's a nightmare.

The help tells me to simply log back in.  How is that a solution?  This is an error I've only started getting this weekend, did they change something in the setup?  Why is it disconnecting so often?  What's going on?

Anyone know?  Being told to login again is no solution.  I'm missing the game!

Have you tried to delete and reinstall the Player?

You can also head onto Live chat to see what they can do.

I didn't try to uninstall the player.  I will do, though.  The issue only started this weekend, but it has that feeling of a problem that isn't going to go away easily.  Either way, since it won't stay logged in for an entire half of football, you can imagine I'm less than impressed.

I won't have anything more to watch until midweek, so we'll see.

I'm having the same issue with the NowTV player. I've noticed this issue for quite a few months now. I've uninstalled the player but that did not fix the issue. I use the Nowtv player on a windows laptop and a Macbook. One thing that I have noticed is this is an issue on my Macbook only. The NowTV app on my windows machine seems to work fine.

Looking at this thread. I am thinking the issue may be to do with the NowTV cookie expiring after a set time, which logs the user out of the account which then turns the player off throwing the error message. Tried to find what the cookie maybe but no luck at the moment.

Yeah, I mentioned this possibility earlier.  The trouble is, people are getting logged off randomly.  I use the NOWTV player - what is everyone using to watch the content?  Is it possible to use any other viewer - such as VLC?

Yup, you're right. It seems to have been a cookie thing.

I searched my cookies in my browser (Firefox), there's several related to nowtv but, I removed/deleted https://nowtv.com cookie. Just watched a full length film (finally) without it crashing out at approx 20-30mins

Really fed up with the persistent shutouts.

from Sunday until half time in the Spurs Chelsea game tonight I have had the error message on 7 separate occasions.

I now believe that Now tv do not care about or intend to fix the issue. They will want us to move over to Sky in frustration so that there will be more income into the group.

We are all just a small revenue stream for Now tv.

It is a shame that all they are able to do is give out pathetic rankings as each of us post more about the complaint and award stupid badges as a stupid reward.

I am watching the Spurs/Chelsea game too.  In an earlier post I outlined how to uninstall and reinstall from the Windows Store.  That was a waste time.  Hilariously, if you install the player from the store, the web site failed to see it, and insists you don't have any player.

So, I did what an earlier poster suggest, and auto-refresh (in my case set to refresh the web page every 5 minutes).  Since then - no issues!  So I had a problem at around 13 minutes played, but the rest of the half has been good (touch wood).

We'll see.  it's not how things should be done, but if it works.....

I tried this - we'll see if it helps - thanks for posting

The browser is quite right - it works in combination with a totally different player from the one in the Microsoft Store.

And the Store app doesn’t need or use the browser at all. Which is why I greatly prefer it.

Set a Payment PIN on your account so that no-one but you can buy memberships on it. Check your bank accounts monthly for any other unexpected payments to Now. That way you can at least nip them in the bud, while you and Now figure out whose fault they are.

I’m having the exact same issue. Started happening last week. Really annoying, paying ~ £30 for a month pass and then getting kicked off with a 20002 error 4-5 times in a football game is not the service I expect. Very dissatisfied customer. Raised a complaint but all I got back was a series of questions which won’t solve the issue. No apology either.

1. On which device are you getting this error code? Laptop

2. Did you try watching on other supported devices? No (I shouldn’t have to)

3. What steps have you tried so far to fix the issue? Re-set router and raised a complaint.

Sort it out Now TV!

They've clearly changed something.  Multiple people are having the exact same issue.  Different devices, different Operating Systems.  You search the web site for help, and you get taken to the Help Page.  It's answer?  Log in again.  Erm....   yeah....   and, as I did this weekend, miss a goal....

Log on here, and a robot comes along and....   refers you to the very same Help Page with the very same response - which is, indeed, inadequate.

I will uninstall the player, and then reinstall it.  But you know what, it won't fix it.  It simply feels as though the cookie is expiring, and logging us off.  No real help thus far.

Add another very unhappy punter to the list. Same issue, same outcome. Tried everything to resolve this issue. I will be heading off to BT at the weekend, these people clearly have no intention of fixing things. They are either clueless on how to fix it, or can't be bothered. Either way it's not good enough.

Same here, watching Cricket and Football recently and keeps kicking me out with 20002 , very annoying and missing key moments...if this carries on will cancel, I shouldn't be missing parts of the game by logging back on!!!!

Same problem. I bought a day pass on Sunday to watch US Open Golf. I was logged out about 6 times by that error code. Nothing wrong with our internet connection - we watch Iplayer and Amazon prime no problem at all.

In the end I gave up watching and asked for a refund. I have had replies from 4 different people at Now saying I am not entitled to a refund because I "used" the service.

I pointed out I didn't get what I paid for and the only way I could find out there was a fault was by "using" the service. I am entitled to a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and I will eventually get my money back.

What a shower they are though and I certainly  won't use the service again.

This problem started for me on Sunday. I was watching Chelsea v Liverpool. I only saw Liverpool win 1-0. I missed the other goal in the 4 shutouts I had with this error.

Again tonight 2 loss of service due to 20002 error.

Having followed the help advice I have updated browser, restarted the PC, uninstalled Now tv and re-installed and still the problem persists.

I had no problem when paying the offer price, it only began after I paid the full rate of £33.99!

I suspect trying to watch the Russian Gp on F1 on Sunday will be a continual series of interruptions.

I am beginning to regret signing up for the 12 month offer.
