When ordering, is it quicker to use an existing line?

When I made my broadband order, I was offered the choice of keeping the old phone number or using a new new one.  I chose the latter.

Later in the process it transpired that there is a 2 week wait for a new line - would it have been quicker if I had selected the old line instead (it did not mention anything about timing at that stage), and if so, can I change my order?

@Svitlana

The time period would still be the same as that’s the next available slot for OpenReach to set up the connection regardless of existing or new landline. When I upgraded my existing broadband from 250mb to 500mb I still had to wait 7 days for them to flip the switch so to speak.

FYI that I do not work for NOW, just a NOW customer trying to help

I doubt you will be getting a new line, just a new number.
