I'm a uni student in the uk and use the NOW tv pass to watch movies and tv shows, if i cancel my account can I still watch until the rest of the month of do I have to wait until just before the next automatic payment?

If you cancel your rolling monthly passes, then you can keep watching up until the next scheduled planned payment date that was due prior to cancelling.
When you go to My Account > Passes & Vouchers whilst logged in on here and click the coloured arrow below your active passes it should show your next due payment date.
Should you cancel any passes then make sure you go through all steps on screen (approx four steps) until you get the green thumbs up cancelled pass message confirmation.
You should also receive an email notification that a pass has been cancelled on your account.
Also if you have more than one type of pass they need to be cancelled individually.
